FRESH is the glass in Zieher's Vision series made for cold, crisp, lively wine: extremely fresh whites, Prosecco, any sparkling wine, and light rosé. It comes as a set of two. Look at the bottom of the bowl and you will find the effervescent point. It is a deliberately roughened spot that gives carbon dioxide somewhere to gather, so sparkling wine sends up a fine continuous string of bubbles instead of going flat in the glass. That string is not only for show. It keeps carrying aroma to the surface for as long as there is wine in the bowl. The opening is wide, which is the other half of the design. Carbon dioxide evaporates gently across that wider surface rather than rushing out, and the wine reads as lively and refreshing rather than sharp. It is the opposite approach to a narrow flute, and it suits wine you want to actually taste rather than simply watch fizz.
